Like you, I love the Adelaide Hills – it’s a very special place. I grew up in Aldgate and live here with my husband and two children in this beautiful, vibrant and peaceful environment, and I am determined to ensure the things that make it so special are preserved and enhanced.
I have served our community on the Adelaide Hills Council for the past four years working hard to help achieve results that benefit our wonderful hills lifestyle:
• Environment & Biodiversity – voted for 11 new reserves into Heritage Agreements; advocated for the prevention of subdivisions under 2000sqm in Country Living Zone
• Climate Change – support Climate Change Adaptation Plan
• Local Business – endorsed Economic Development Strategy
• Arts & Culture – support for Lobethal Arts & Heritage Hub
• Walking Trails, Foot & Bike Paths – throughout the region
• World Heritage Bid – supported progression of the bid
• Reconciliation – backed the Reconciliation Action Plan
• Waste Management – encouraging green waste & recycling
• Volunteer Groups – assisting groups through AHC grants.
If re-elected, I will continue working diligently for the above areas, as well as supporting and promoting:
• Freight Train Bypass
• Community Renewable Energy Projects.
I am a representative on Council’s Sustainability, Biodiversity, and Social Planning Advisory Groups. I hold a Bachelor of Commerce, have run local businesses and held a seat on the Stirling Business Association committee. I am financially responsible and support sustainable long-term planning and low rate rises.
I invite you to follow me on Facebook and encourage you to also support fellow candidates for Ranges Ward: Kirsty Parkin, Nathan Daniell and John Kemp, as well as Jan-Claire Wisdom for Mayor.
I thank you for your support and remain open to your ideas and issues of concern to the community.
Voting is not compulsory so remember to ask your friends and family to vote. Ballot papers are delivered by mail between 22–26 October and voting closes 5pm Friday 9 November, 2018.
Warm regards,
